St. Patrick's Committee Contributions and Projects
The St. Patrick's Committee continually strives to find new ways to benefit the community of Ireland.
Just a few of the contributions and projects they have done over the years include:
2024: In late spring of 2024, we will be re-paving and extending the pathway around Ireland Elementary School. Thanks to generous grants from the Dubois County Community Foundation ($20,000 - with $5,000 from the Ireland Community Endowment and $15,000 from the Fund for Dubois County), as well as a $2,000 grant from Operation Roundup participants through the Dubois REC. 2023: During 2023 there were smaller additional projects completed: landscaping at the Pfaff Building, large paving stones on the west entrance into town, and street banners installed through a partnership with the Ireland Lions Club! 2022: Sidewalk was installed on N 500 W between Hwy 56 and Ireland Elementary School on the west side and landscaping was updated on the east side of the Pfaff building. In 2022 we also assisted with the purchase of an ATV side by side for Ireland Elementary School. 2021: Beautifying Ireland one dumpster at a time!
2016: Sidewalks were installed between Hwy. 56 going north to St. Mary Church as well as landscaping on the southwest corner of Hwy. 56 and County Road 500. Funding for this project came from the public's support of the St. Patrick's Celebration's events during St. Patrick's weekend and Irish Road Bowling. 2013: Green light bulbs were purchased and distributed to all residents of Madison and Boone Township. 2013: West side Ireland display was started in the Spring and completed in July of 2013. 2012: The Ireland established in 1816 sign and landscaping was installed at the corner of Hwy. 56 and County Road 500, west of stoplight. 2012: Lights were purchased and installed on the Ireland Water Tower. 2011: Green lights were purchased and installed over Hwy. 56 in Ireland. 2010/2011: Defibrillators given to St. John's Lutheran Church and Ireland Elementary
